Abraham entered iinto service of the Revolutionary war in Aug 1 1781, when George Washington was preparing for the investment of Yorktown. Abraham was placed under Col. William Anderson at Yorktown. On Oct 19 1781 he received a second wound that entirely disabled him from duty.
Feb 1 1782 he was discharged and returned to his father's house where he was not able to sit in a chair. He was a cripple for most of his life.
