He lived in the "Roman Eagle Nurshing Home" after a stroke. Helen remembers feading him after after his first stroke. He recovered fast. After she fed him, he said "Thank you Helen" and she said " I know you would do the smae for me" then they both cried.
Both Thadeus and Verdie died of a stroke. Verdie had a bad stroke and could not move (mostly a vegatable, but nobody wanted to pull the plug). They always visited and would be happy when they saw an eyelash move.
One of his brothers(uncles) lived up the hill from Claybourne street and would frequently walk down.
Thadeus married Verdie M GUSLER, daughter of Jacob Rufus GUSLER and Mary Jane Agness CARTER, on 23 Dec 1920 in Franklin county, Virginia. (Verdie M GUSLER was born on 30 Aug 1901 in Franklin county, Virginia and died on 31 Jul 1988 in Estelle, Caswell, North Carolina.)
