Marriage Notes:
They got married in 1923, then divorced a few years later. Edith moved to Chicago with her cousins for work. They worked for a rich house- mostly in the kitchen. She went there with Gerry and Peggy. She returned to Isabella, MI a short time later and remarried to Alexander.
Helen recalls stories from Edith. When they first started working in the kitchen of a rich family: the lady of the house asked them to prepare a baked chicken and they should first draw out the chicken. The ladies then discussed who was the best artist(drawing), since they had no idea what they had been requested. Helen explained that this might be part of the reason they only lasted a short time in Chicago.
